PBC is growing and is adding an experienced Maintenance Mechanic in our facility in Portland and Clackamas. This position is responsible for installing, maintaining and making repairs to machinery, equipment, physical structure, pipe and electrical systems in commercial or industrial establishments by preforming the following duties. Maintaining the day to day operations for all production and packaging equipment at Portland Bottling Company, to ensure the production of a sage and legal product intended for consumption.

Job Duties

  • Visually inspects and tests machinery and equipment
  • Listens for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunction and discusses machine operation variations with supervisors or other maintenance workers to diagnose problems or repair machine.
  • Dismantles defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts.
  • Cleans and repairs electrical apparatus, such as transformers, wiring, electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment.
  • Lays out, assembles, installs and maintains pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment. Repairs and replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulators and related equipment.
  • Repairs and maintains physical structure of establishment.
  • Installs, programs, or repairs automated machinery and equipment such as robots or programmable controllers.
  • Sets up and operates machine tools such as lathe, grinder, drill and milling machine to repair or fabricate parts, jigs and fixtures.
  • Operates cutting torch or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts as well as fabricating and repairing counters, benches, partitions and other wooden structures.
  • Utilizes CMMS for tracking labor hours, PMs, spare parts, work orders and written pass downs.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or a Technical School Diploma is required. A combination of education and 8 years of relatable experience may be substituted for the degree requirement
  • 6-year related experience in a manufacturing environment is highly preferred
  • Experience using a computerized maintenance management system
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud and temperatures will fluctuate from hot to cold depending on outside temperatures. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, balance, twist, stoop kneel and reach with hands/arms. Frequently lifts 25 pounds and occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds. Occasionally walks, use stairways to climb to multiple floors within office building.
