Graduate Engineer A:
  • Education and/or Equivalent Experience: Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in Engineering or in a field related to the job.
  • Licenses and Certifications Required: None.



Graduate Engineer B:
  • Education and/or Equivalent Experience: Bachelor's degree in an appropriate engineering discipline with at least two (2) years of engineering experience.
  • Licenses or Certifications: Texas Engineer-In-Training Certification.


OR

Engineer A:
  • Education and/or Equivalent Experience: Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in Engineering or in a field related to the job, plus four (4) years engineering experience acquired either before and/or after licensing as a professional engineer.
  • Licenses or Certifications: State of Texas Professional Engineer License.


Engineer B:
  • Education and/or Equivalent Experience: Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in Engineering or in a field related to the job, plus six (6)years engineering experience acquired either before and/or after licensing as a professional engineer.
  • Licenses or Certifications: State of Texas Professional Engineer License at the time of hire.

Notes to Applicants

  • Graduate Engineer A: $29.83 to $38.78 per hour
  • Graduate Engineer B: $31.62 to $41.11 per hour
  • Engineer A: $33.52 to $43.58 per hour
  • Engineer B: $35.53 to $46.19 per hour



Position Overview
The Collection System Engineering Asset Management Team is responsible for making engineering decisions based off condition and criticality data that lead to rehabilitation and replacement of water and wastewater pipelines. This group actively monitors incoming sewer camera inspections, sanitary sewer overflows, and work orders along with regularly working with field personnel and operators to make decisions. The engineer being hired will work as a part of a team of fellow engineers, associates, and interns to move forward priority projects and work orders.

Travel:
If you are selected for this position, and meet the Driver Safety Standards in the City of Austin Driver Safety Program, you may drive when necessary to multiple locations as part of your regular job duties. Otherwise, you are responsible for getting to and from these locations.

All Austin Water worksite locations are tobacco-free. Use of tobacco products and/or e-cigarettes is not permitted on any AW worksite - including construction sites, parking lots, garages or in any personal vehicle located on the premises.

Hours
  • Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with some flexibility.
  • The engineers on this team are a part of the Collection System Engineering 24-hour SSO on call rotation.
