Position Summary

The Pediatric Concussion Program at Children's Minnesota provides comprehensive medical evaluation and treatment for children and adolescents with concussions as well as more severe traumatic brain injuries. The Concussion Clinic is staffed by two pediatric nurse practitioners. The broader multidisciplinary program consists of a team of subspecialty experts in concussion care, including neurosurgery, rehabilitative services, pediatric psychology, and neuropsychology. The Concussion Program is integrated with Children's Minnesota's network of emergency departments, primary care, and subspecialty clinics and regularly collaborates with rehabilitative services, neurology, and neuroradiology. The concussion team is committed to continuously improving our quality of care through research and training to adopt the most promising evidence-based clinical practices. We conduct concussion-specific research studies that focus on better understanding risk factors for prolonged recovery following pediatric concussion, and more recently, on developing novel interventions to facilitate evidence-based improvements in the care we provide (e.g., reduced recovery times)

The PA/NP will help staff our existing outpatient Concussion Clinics, located on the St. Paul and Minneapolis campuses with expanded services to Woodbury, Minnetonka and Lakeville. Daily schedules will include a mix of new patients and follow-up visits. APPs will see patients independently. Neurosurgery providers will be available for consultation as needed.

We are seeking someone who is available Tues and Fridays 8a-4:30p with flexibility to pick up addtional shifts as available . The initial training for the role would rotate between Mpls/StP/Maple Grove but Maple Grove would likely be the primary location. Being that this is a casual role, it is not eligible for benefits. The Casual rate is a set rate of $69.23/h.
