Speech Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) - Job Overview:

  • Implements treatment designed by a licensed speech-language pathologist and/or treatment team.
  • Aids in establishing pre-speech skills in treatment sessions.
  • Assists families and teachers of individuals with speech and hearing problems.
  • Charts daily behavior and case histories; prepares progress notes.
  • Attend in-service meetings, workshops, conferences, staff development programs and other professional meetings.
  • Maintain certifications, education, and development appropriate for position.
  • Completes position responsibilities by following established guidelines and protocols within the appropriate time frame.

Speech Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) - Job Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Graduation from accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor's degree in the area of speech-language pathology as approved by the CAA-ASLH -OR- graduation from accredited college or university with an associate degree as a speech-language pathology assistant in program approved by the CAA-ASLH and two years experience
  • Registered as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant by MO Board of Healing Arts
  • CPR First Aide from the American Heart Association
