The Modeling and Simulation (M&S) Principal Engineer/Scientist (PE/PS) will conduct in-depth scientific and technical intelligence analysis supporting NASIC. The M&S PE/PS will develop and maintain Threat Modeling and Analysis Program (TMAP) models of weapons, sensors, ballistic missiles models, and other air assets. Work performed shall include modeling and simulation tasks, technical analysis of system capabilities to include review of intelligence documents, validation and verification testing, model integration, writing of Threat Verification and Validation Reports (TVVR), and other tasks associated with NASIC's threat modeling and simulation process. Candidate will conduct research and development and verify novel and unique signature production and analysis algorithms and techniques to meet customer requirements. Candidates must be able to work independently and as part of a technical team and have effective oral and written communication skills. Successful candidates will have strong problem solving and critical thinking skills. Desire an active TS/SCI clearance.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Managing a team of technical engineers/scientists/analysts.

• Providing technical oversight.

• Operating in simulation architectures.

• Perform modeling and simulation tasks.

• Conduct post processing and data reduction.

• Write analysis reports and develop briefings.

• Work independently and in a team environment.

Required Qualifications:

• At a minimum, PhD. in engineering, science, computer science, or mathematics.

• 7 or more years of relevant experience.

• Active TS/SCI clearance.

• Pursuant to the various government contractual requirements, all applicants must be U.S. Citizens.

Desired Qualification

• Familiarity with Matlab/Simulink/Stateflow TMAP.

• Experience migrating legacy code to new versions of Matlab, Matlab 2020a.

• Familiarity with NASIC in house tools such as Argo, Kalais, and Impulse.

• Exposure to GOTS engineering level aerodynamic prediction codes such as Missile Datcom, CBAero up through GOTS Computational Fluid Dynamic Codes (CFD) such as CART3D and Kestrel.

• Experience with multi-vehicle simulation environments such as AFSIM, NGTS, ITASE, and JSE.

• Simulink library block collections and modeling tools

• Experience with one or more of the following:

o Threat Verification and Validation Reports (TVVR)

o Experience with Threat Model M&S R&D process

o Experience with merging model architectures, enhance model subsystem reuse, and accurately model emerging threat capabilities.

o Air launched weapon systems.

o Research on signal processing techniques, hardware, algorithms, and predictive performance.

• Noise conditions range from very quiet to very noisy.

• Prolonged use of computer (typing/keyboarding).

• Frequently required to sit for long periods of time, stand, and walk.

• Ability to travel by car, air or other means of transportation, if required.
