Your Daily Tasks

  • Facilitates high quality financial management in International Research & Exchanges Board (IREX) field offices by conferring with company officials about financial and regulatory matters.
  • Provides day-to-day support on accounting and financial oversight to individual IREX international field offices.
  • Inspects and monitors field office account books and accounting systems for constant audit readiness.
  • Prepares, examines, or analyzes accounting records, financial statements, or other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.
  • Supports and ensures financial compliance with donor requirements (primarily USAID), internal IREX policies, and local laws in individual field offices.
  • Reviews, makes corrections, follows up, and performs financial risk assessment on items in monthly field office expense reports, such as reporting to management about audit results and recommending changes in operations and financial activities.
  • Supports recruitment of field office finance staff.
  • Coordinates activities of personnel engaged in documentation and implementation of internal control procedures in field offices, such as transmitting financial records and facilitates implementation of electronic payment system in field offices by developing, implementing, modifying, and documenting recordkeeping and accounting systems.
  • Coordinates vendor management and analyzes records of cash balances and cash flow to field offices, using accepted accounting and statistical procedures to assess financial condition and facilitate financial planning.

Your Background & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration with a focus on Accounting or Finance.
  • 2 years of work experience in Accounting or Finance.
  • 2 years of experience implementing USAID Rules and Regulations.
  • 1 year of experience using contracts and payment software.

All experience may be earned concurrently. Remote work from any US state or DC is permissible. Less than 10% international travel required.
