Comtech Telecommunications Corp. is seeking a Senior Technician for High Voltage Power Supply and high frequency, high power amplifiers to join our team at our Santa Clara, CA. In this position, you are responsible for performing the set-up, calibration, testing, and troubleshooting of circuits, components, instruments, and mechanical assemblies. Determines and may develop test specifications, methods and procedures from blueprints, drawings, and diagrams. Tests and troubleshoots assemblies and/or final systems. May complete rework on assemblies and/or systems because of testing. As required, prepares technical reports summarizing findings and recommending solutions to technical problems. May assist in the selection and set-up of specialized test equipment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Review drawings, specifications, procedures, schematics, ECOs and other related documents to test high Voltage Power supplies and High-Power amplifier products for new and returned products.
  • Support the schedule for the production process, prioritizing production schedule. Be able to handle heavy pressure to meet high demand.
  • Making sure that products are produced on time; meets or exceeding quality requirements.
  • Working closely with Manufacturing Engineering (ME), design, and quality team to support assembly and repair processes to achieve the highest quality where as possible.
  • Liaison amongst different departments, e.g. Suppliers, Engineering, and Planners to ensure efficient collaboration and coordination.
  • Strong problem-solving skills in supporting production and repair to maximize quantity, quality and yield performance.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Outstanding Team working and excellent communication skills.
  • Highly skilled and very good working knowledge of high voltage Power supplies, High power amplifiers systems and subassemblies.
  • Excellent Problem-Solving Skills.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Five (5) to ten (10) years of experience in working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Extensive knowledge of testing and troubleshooting of PCBA (Printed Circuit Board), High voltage power circuits, Klystrons, TWTA’s and solid-state amplifiers.
  • Knowledgeable in IPC-A-610, J-STD-001, and ISO Standards.
  • Two-to-four-year degree in a technical field (Electronic theory of operations). And/ or five (5) years’ experience in a production environment.

COMPENSATION: $28-32/hr depending on experience

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Must have a very well proficient English, ability to create report with in-depth root cause analyze and solution methods including support data. Ability to respond to common inquires or complaints from customers.
