Skid Prep

Wilsonart, Temple, Texashas an immediate opening for a Skid Prep. This This individual will retrieve and return LP skids to and from loading and off-loading areas. Assist in maintenance of Low Pressure inventory. These tasks will be performed under the direction of the material coordinator, crew leader, and supervisor. Performs other tasks as needed. This is a rotating position.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Retrieves treated paper from the transport lift.
  • Supports the flipping of treated paper required by the customer and current process.
  • Inspects outside treated paper edges after being treated prior to banding.
  • Prepares customers specified skids for shipment (pre prep pallet).
  • Prepares treated paper pallet with corner protection and banding.
  • Prepares treated paper pallet with license plate and customer tag generated from RFGEN system.
  • Prepares and combines all customer skids with banding shipping to specified customer.
  • Ability to read Low Pressure production schedule to pre prep specified skids.
  • Performs daily rolling stock inspection and changes battery as needed and reports any maintenance issue.
  • Participates in the Lean Process.
  • Clean the treater.
  • Assist wet end operation as needed.
  • Cross-train for the checker and wet end position
  • Creates and completes WIP jobs in Oracle

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to read Low Pressure production schedule to pre prep specified skids
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to maintain and clean and safe work environment.
  • Ability to read a tape measure
  • Knowledge of computers sufficient to utilize word processors, spreadsheets, databases, Oracle, and WIP transactions
  • Knowledge of safety standards applicable to the Melamine Department and other pertinent rules/regulations governing work standards
  • Ability to be comfortable and safety conscious when operating machinery
  • Knowledge of mathematics as it applies to treater operations.

MINIMUMREQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION:

High School Graduate or GED

EXPERIENCE:

Six (6) months stacker/sheeter experience

If no candidates possess this experience, the Company will accept six (6) months experience in Assembly, Melamine, Phenolic, Pressing, Sander or Finished Goods. One year of work experience required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Continuous physical exertion is required, such as walking/pushing/climbing and lifting material or equipment of heavy weight 50-100 lbs.
