Job Summary
The Chen Lab is in the Spinal Cord & Brain Injury Research Center in the University of Kentucky. We study how glial cells contribute to the repair of the central nervous system, by using a combination of mouse genetics, experimental central nervous system (
CNS) injury models, mouse behavioral assays, and cellular and molecular biology. We are seeking highly motivated, enthusiastic, and collaborative candidates.
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
Main responsibilities include mouse colony maintenance, laboratory organization, performance of in vitro and in vivo experiments, recording/analyzing experimental data, and overseeing student assistants. Experience with mouse work is highly desired (e.g., mouse colony maintenance, genotyping, surgery, tissue preparation). Experience with any of the following is preferred: cell culture, microscopy, histology, cellular and molecular techniques.
