Physical Requirements
Regular use of computer workstation and repetitive motion. Occasional standing or walking with objects up to 25 pounds. Occasional lifting, pushing, and/or pulling objects up to and over 50 pounds. Regular exposure to blood borne/airborne pathogens.
Employees may be required to travel to other locations across the Lexington area.
Shift
Monday – Friday, day shift with some early morning and early evening hours. Possibility of call time.
Job Summary
UK Healthcare is seeking an individual with excellent customer service skills to work in an ambulatory lab setting, either in a Physician’s office lab and/or collection site.
The Medical Lab Technician duties will include registration and scheduling of patients utilizing all appropriate systems and checking insurance coverage and eligibility. This position will also manage the release of electronic orders and handle some specimen collection and processing. This position may perform waived and moderately complex testing.
Proficiency in phlebotomy of all age groups is preferred.
The candidate must be a team player, patient centered and be a critical thinker.
