WHAT OUR DEPARTMENT DOES The mission of Sponsored Research Contracting and Compliance (SRCC) is to ensure timely and effective review and acceptance of grants, contracts and other awards from federal funding agencies, other universities, nonprofit organizations, and private industry for the benefit of San Diego State University. SRCC is also responsible for initiating subagreements with other institutions and verifying completion by researchers of various compliance requirements such as human and animal subjects, conflict of interests, and other research compliance requirements managed through the SDSU division of research support services. The department works closely with staff from sponsored research development (pre-award) and sponsored research administration (post-award).
YOUR ROLE IN CREATING THE UNIVERSITY’S PRESENT AND FUTURE The SRCC Technician provides critical administrative support to the department. The position helps to ensure that incoming awards and outgoing subagreements are established into the data management systems in a timely manner, supporting the ongoing mission of the Research Foundation and San Diego State University, as well as the SDSU Strategic Plan. Responsibilities THE WORK YOU WILL DO AND MANAGE Assisting SRCC staff with administrative tasks, such as preparation of correspondence documents, facilitating return of documents to sponsors, running reports, performing status checks on partially executed agreements, assisting staff with compliance checks, comparing documents to identify inconsistent terms and conditions, performing internet research and corresponding documentation, updating Banner and creation of InfoEd records related to award and subagreement actions, and scanning documents to Etrieve files.
