The Marketing and Communication (M&C) group helps to manage the CS brand, tell the company’s story, build client awareness, and help facilitate the proposal process and other aspects of business development. We collaborate with CS staff to help foster long-term client relationships and a positive, innovative perception in the marketplace. The Proposal Specialist is a member of this matrixed group.
The Proposal Specialist serves as a strategic partner to business development leadership in an assigned CS region. Focusing primarily on the assigned region, the Proposal Specialist collaborates with pursuit teams in the timely submission of proposals, including preparation, coordination, and submission; provides marketing support for regional business development strategy; and helps make recommendations based on knowledge of local markets, clients, and competitors. The Proposal Specialist supports other business development needs of the firm nationwide, in response to shifting workload demands. In addition, the Proposal Specialist may develop deep knowledge of a CS practice area, sub-market or strategic initiative, serving as a key knowledge resource to the broader M&C team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Proposals and Business Development Partnership
•Partners with pursuit teams in the development and submission of proposals that fall under M&C’s portfolio •Coordinates with internal practice area staff and external teaming firms for receipt of contributing content and materials •Authors general, non-technical proposal sections •In collaboration with Consultant Proposal Managers, ensures incorporation of positioning and win themes developed during the pre-marketing pre-proposal phase •Engages other M&C staff as needed, including graphic designers, document specialists, and/or the technical editor to ensure CS brand compliance for final products •Drives internal deadlines to ensure on-time submissions •Encouraged to attend pre-bid and debriefing meetings •May assist Marketing Team Lead with priority proposals, providing coordinating support •May participate in interview prep sessions •In partnership with practice area staff, may coordinate the refinement and cataloging of content for submitted proposals
Strategic Marketing Services Partnership
•Develops knowledge of the full portfolio of CS services, products, and practice areas; annual CS business plan; and business plan of assigned region •Integrates as a strategic partner within the assigned region to understand geographic strategy and objectives, markets, clients, and competitors •May help develop or coordinate for the region, by bringing in the appropriate M&C resources, marketing materials including project sheets and other thought leadership marketing, web-based marketing, print material, events, and internal communications •May develop in-depth knowledge of a CS practice area, sub-market or market initiative to serve as a key knowledge resource for the M&C group
Reporting and Accountability
•Leverages technology, tools, and metrics to report on marketing and business development efforts •Uses outcomes to recommend and execute on refining and reshaping efforts as needed
Position Requirements
•Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of related experience
•Proficient with Microsoft office, Adobe Creative Suite, and communications-related software programs
•Demonstrates organizational, communication (both verbal and written), and interpersonal skills with strong attention to detail
•Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and deadlines
•Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Preferred Qualifications
•Experience with SF330 proposals or federal proposals
•Proficiency using SharePoint or similar content management application
•Proficiency using Dynamics 365 or similar CRM application
•Experience using Microsoft Teams or similar application for communication and collaboration
•Prior A/E/C experience
•Strong working knowledge of a professional services organization

Salary Range: $75,000.00-$85,000.00 Annually
