What Banicki Can Offer You:

Position Overview: We are seeking a motivated and driven Engineering Major with great communication skills to join our Team. Under the direct supervision of the Project Manager, a Project Engineer Intern will assist the Project manager and Superintendents in executing complex heavy civil projects on budget and on schedule. This position will work closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, Estimators, the accounting department, clients, subcontractors, and vendors.

Time will be spent in the office and on project sites. You will be responsible for project coordination, reports, scheduling, pricing, purchasing and/or procurement of construction materials, equipment, job supplies, and permanent project materials. You will collaborate closely with the Project Manager to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety.

Responsibilities:

  • Work directly with Project Manager and Superintendent to manage all phases of heavy civil or heavy highway projects, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and execution.
  • Ensure compliance with all project plans, specifications, safety regulations, quality standards, and contractual requirements.
  • Review job cost budget forecasts and communicate budgets to Superintendents.
  • Help develop work and safety plans for various heavy civil operations.
  • Oversee field operations on the project site.
  • Submit and track all project related transmittals and submittals.
  • Submit and track all project related correspondence.
  • Work with Project Manager to forecast projects cost and revenue every month.
  • Work with Project Manager and client to develop payment applications every month.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, quality standards, and contractual requirements.


Qualifications:

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or another Engineering Major.
  • Minimum GPA 2.75.
  • Good teamwork and communication skills.
  • Computer savvy – willing to learn new computer software.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel.
  • Available to work at least 2-3 days per week.
