Reporting to the AVP of Clinical Operations and Clinical Education, the Coordinator of Clinical Education is responsible for the planning, coordination and execution of clinical education initiatives and programs that contribute to the accomplishment of the goals and objectives of Providence Community Health Center (PCHC) in the delivery of patient centered care in communities we serve. The Coordinator of Clinical Education assists with evaluating the needs of our clinical care team professionals to ascertain, implement, and/or develop the best practices and/or programs to meet the health care needs of medically underserved communities in the Greater Providence area. The Coordinator of Clinical Education develops and maintains collaborative partnerships with local educators, educational institutions and organizations, health care professionals, and communities to meet objectives, targets, and improve program delivery.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Responsible for coordinating with management to identify areas of training needs and develop plans for implementation.
  2. Coordinates training for all care team members on the use of new equipment and supplies, and care team processes and procedures through in-service training for appropriate staff.
  3. Initiates clinic skill development programs that improve patient health outcomes.
  4. Partners with the Human Resources and I.T. to research and utilize software and technology to enhance the learning experience for PCHCs staff.
  5. Deploys “best practice” evidence based clinical processes to facilitate change in our model of care.

EDUCATION AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Bachelor’s degree required
  2. Current RN license in the State of Rhode Island
  3. Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with providers is critical.
  4. Strong/demonstrated written, verbal, presentation and committee facilitation skills required
  5. Demonstrates the ability to facilitate change and learning
  6. Thorough knowledge and understanding of clinical protocol, procedures and standards within the area of nursing
  7. Ability to logically troubleshoot and analyze problems
  8. Knowledge with primary care processes and procedures
  9. Strong clinical skills to support the primary care environment
  10. Proficient in computer skills, including MS Office, and EHR
  11. Ability to function independently with little or no direct supervision and manage a multiple projects.
  12. Able to work effectively as a project team member.
  13. Easily adapts to change, ability to function as a “champion for change.”
