Summary/Objective

The Data Engineer is responsible for developing, maintaining, and providing support for the Bank’s data warehousing assets with a primary goal of making all Bank data easily accessible and usable.

Essential Functions

  • Develops and maintains scalable data pipelines and builds out new API integrations to support the ingestion of data from existing and new application systems and data sources.
  • Collaborates with analytics and business teams to improve data models that feed business intelligence tools, increasing data accessibility, and fostering data-driven decision making across the organization.
  • Implements processes and systems to monitor data quality, ensuring production data is always accurate and available for key stakeholders and business processes that depend on it.
  • Works with Compliance Department to develop and maintain a data governance framework.
  • Writes unit/integration tests, contributes to IT knowledgebase, and documents work.
  • Performs data analysis required to troubleshoot data related issues and assist in the resolution of data issues.
  • Works closely with vendors, infrastructure engineers, product managers, and analysts.
  • Prepares and publishes data models and data lineage documentation for all data warehouse data sources.
  • Designs data integrations and data quality framework.
  • Works closely with all business units and infrastructure teams to develop strategy for long term data platform architecture.

Other Duties

  • Complies with all policies and procedures as applied to the Bank's BSA/AML policy.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.


Work Environment

This job operates in a clerical office setting. This job routinely requires use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and multifunction print/copy/scan devices. Office environment with job duties conducted via telephone, face to face meetings, and on the computer.


Physical Demands

This position requires manual dexterity, the ability to lift files and open cabinets. This position requires bending, stooping or standing as necessary.


Travel

Travel may be required for this position.


Education and Experience

  • Five years’ experience with Microsoft SQL required.
  • Three years’ experience with data pipeline work using ETL tools, Python, Java, PowerShell, APIs in an Auth 2.0 authentication framework, webhooks, and encrypted file transfers required.
  • Experience working within a Microsoft Azure tenant using Azure Automation, Azure PowerShell Runbooks and Webhooks.
  • Undergraduate degree in Computer/Data Science or equivalent preferred.
  • Five to ten years technical and/or operational experience with a wide variety of software applications, preferably in the banking sector.
  • Ability to learn and become proficient with a variety of software applications and data sources.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
