JOB SUMMARY:

Assist with the overall engineering, architecture and operations of a large, multi vendor, enterprise network. Research emerging network technologies, and software enhancements. Other duties as assigned.

JOB DUTIES:

35% - Essential - Network Systems Administration:
Participates in planning, designing, installing and configuring local and wide area networks ina large multi-vendor, multi-site enterprise network. Collaborate with peers to review design proposals and implementation plans. Analyze complex network technology needs and system requirements to determine feasibility of design, technical specifications, and test plans within time and cost constraints.

25% - Essential - Performance Monitoring:
Analyzes network efficiency by conducting network tests and running diagnostics in order to forecast performance thresholds. Diagnoses and resolves network problems and ensures network environments are secure and appropriate recovery and redundancy issues are addressed. Monitors performance of networks to identify potential problems and bottlenecks. Develops concise network technical procedures and documentation.

35% - Essential - Debugging:
Debugs complex network configuration, hardware failures, and external and internal network faults. Diagnoses and resolves network problems in conjunction with other engineers, support personnel, system administrators and other vendors in a large and complex environment. Troubleshoot system issues and interface with vendor support when needed. Provides on-call support.

5% - Essential - Professional Development:
Attend training and professional development related to job duties.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

A bachelor's degree in computer science or related field and experience in computer system development and modification. Relevant experience may be substituted for bachelor's degree on a year-for-year basis.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor's degree in information technology systems, computer science, or related field and experience in information technology systems
or related area.

Licenses - Drivers License Class D normal Work Experience:

4+ years Experience with Cisco networking equipment.
4+ years experience in networking.
Familiarity with Juniper, F5, Palo Alto networking equipment.

Cisco or Juniper certifications (CCNA, JNCIA, etc...)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor's degree in information technology systems, computer science, or related field and experience in information technology systems
or related area.
