CALIBRE Systems, Inc., an employee-owned management consulting and digital transformation company, seeks a highly motivated and experienced Front End Designer to work as part of a multidisciplinary team to carry out public health communication and marketing strategies, services, and interventions with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Office of Science (OS) staff. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to designing, creating, and modifying Web sites; analyzing user needs to implement Web site content, graphics, performance, and capacity; converting written, graphic, audio, and video components to compatible Web formats by using software designed to facilitate the creation of Web and multimedia content.


  • Minimum 3-5 years working as a Front End Designer.
  • Requires knowledge of state and national education standards.
  • Requires knowledge of adult learning.
  • Requires proficiency with basic word processing, spreadsheets, presentation software, and proficiency in graphic design software.
  • Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Requires ability to problem solve, research, and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to work independently, in a group setting, and with subject matter experts on concurrent tasks with changing priorities.
  • Knowledge of Section 508 Compliance.

  • Experience with the strategy, design, development, and production of front-end web tools for website and communication platforms including Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, eLearning modules, digital trainings, etc.
  • Experience planning, designing, and maintaining communication platforms and interfaces including features and functionality to incorporate web visibility and digital access, establishing and guiding website’s architecture for internal and external audiences, ensuring high-performance and availability of trainings and communication content and materials.
  • Experience with Digital First Editor (DFE), health literacy, and 508 compliance regulations and standards.
  • Experience planning, developing, and implementing processes to gather user feedback, conduct user testing, evaluate customer useability and experience, and adapt content solutions to align with feedback, needs, and standards.
  • Experience with visual design, layout and user experience tools and resources for sharing and disseminating information.
